Environmental & Sustainability Statement

At CareHomeLife we understand that our activities have both direct and indirect impact on the environment in which we live.  Our aim is to be an industry leader in the way we manage the environmental impacts of our operations. 

We see our proactive commitment to protecting the environment as both an integral part of good business as well as to the benefit of our care home clients, their residents, our staff, and the wider community at large.

While reducing our impact on the environment is a matter of both individual and collective responsibility at CareHomeLife, overall responsibility lies with myself as Chairman of the business.  I will continue to communicate the importance of environmental issues to our people.

We are committed to:

• Promoting environmental awareness throughout all operations of the company.
• Minimising the environmental impact of our operations through a process of continual improvement, including the introduction of new systems and processes.
• Measuring and taking action to reduce the carbon footprint of our business activities to meet our objectives and targets.
• Promoting product stewardship and life cycle thinking in our procurement decisions, and by sourcing from suppliers who share our vision of a sustainable future for all.
• Reducing the amount of fuel used in the transport of our materials, products, and people.
• Managing our waste by targeting the packaging we use and by promoting elimination, reuse, reduction, and recycling of the waste we produce.
• Regularly review our environmental commitments and performance and will publicly report progress on our website.
• Complying with any applicable laws governing the environment.

These practices will support our journey to Net Zero which we will achieve no later than 2050, and we will regularly monitor our progress against this target.

This Policy Statement will be reviewed annually, and it will be amended as necessary to ensure that we are meeting the needs of the business and the environment in which we work.
