Words Matter
A good choice of words, especially from someone we look up to, can make a marked difference to our mindset, enthusiasm, and how we react towards them in return. Positive language is influenced by a positive attitude. This doesn’t mean that you won’t ever have negative thoughts, we tell ourselves stories all the time – some good, some bad. This is about paying attention to your thoughts and words, acknowledging how much better your aura might feel to those around you when you are giving off positive energy and using helpful, optimistic words.
We’re all guilty of negative language: How are you? ‘Not so bad, can’t complain’. Four unenthusiastic words in one sentence! ‘I’ll tell you what I don’t want!’ – better to place the focus on what you do want, you might just get it, and vice versa. ‘It’s a miserable day’. Is it? It may be raining, but does that really make it miserable? We can all carry our own sunshine. The things we mindlessly say are all habits that are embedded in our language culture, and likely used by people we are close with. Be the change. It is possible to train yourself to have an optimistic attitude.
Your attitude impacts everything. It directs your thoughts, which you then go on express through your words and actions, and because of those actions taken the results are hugely different when you have a positive attitude, as opposed to a negative one.
Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become YOUR WORDS
Keep your words positive because your words become YOUR BEHAVIOUR
Keep your behaviour positive because your behaviour becomes YOUR HABITS
Keep your habits positive because your habits become YOUR VALUES
Keep your values positive because your values become YOUR DESTINY
